Our call for action is as urgent as ever.
We are taking action to significantly expand our reach and impact. Water issues transcend geographies—what impacts Central Texas impacts all of Texas—and beyond. As we engage in strategic planning for the months ahead, we are focused on several key initiatives.
Legal Strategy & Aqua Texas
While there has been great progress both with our federal lawsuit intervention and our Public Utility Commission petition, these disputes remain ongoing in the courts and further legal intervention remains possible.
Stakeholder Engagement
Elected officials and other leaders’ support will be required if we are to truly impact the policies needed to protect our water. This will become increasingly important during and after the 2025 legislative session.
Fundraising Capital
Major expansions to our work will require a significant increase in funds. Litigation alone is expected to cost several hundred thousand dollars annually and could realistically far exceed that amount. Fundraising will be a top priority in the coming months.
Public Engagement
Leaders and residents must be made aware of the urgency protecting water resources calls for and the risks we all face in the immediate years ahead and for generations to come.
